Kristina Benson Art, (the creator of wearable art, seen here) such as leggings, kimonos, scarves, capris, tank tops, beanies and much more and I have worked together on numerous projects together over the last 10 years. With the wearable art collection though, working on producing imagery for it has been special. There is a buzz about the products and that has been intensified greatly from her participation in last week’s Vancouver Fashion Week. A quote from Kristina about her latest collection that will be seen on the runway: “This wearable art brings to life the rhythms of loving intentions crafted into asymmetrical designs, rich textures, and vivid colours,” Kristina says of her work. “Proudly made in Canada, this collection includes an unconventional combination of eco-fabric yoga leggings, draped kimonos, and delicate scarves. I have put significant thought and love into these new pieces of artwork, and I know women will connect with selections such as I Rise, Reflections, and Fire In Me. Covering casual chic to everyday yoga, these distinctive designs are sure to satiate the senses.”
Since last fall I’ve been working with Kristina to help showcase some of these designs, both at environmental locales as well as The Yoga Loft here in Kamloops. As a fellow artist it’s extremely gratifying to see someone who’s passion and hard work has been brought to fruition, so it gave me great pleasure to work with her to help showcase her newest designs. Huge shout out to Marcia Wilson at the Yoga Loft as well as The Black Iron restaurant at Tobiano for their cooperation in using their facilities.
The shoots themselves involved a mixture of styles and lighting techniques, all of which were really fun to shoot, especially with such great designs and models. Enjoy the images below! To see more of my work have a peek at my website here.
Cheers!
