Spending time and working with the great people of Sun Peaks Resort is always something I look forward to. So, last week was even more special when I was able to go up and spend a few days on two separate shoots: The first one was the The Alpine Fondue & Starlight Descent. (see the link for full details). The mid-mountain lodge has been totally refurbished and there is a new world renowned European chef orchestrating the event, so I was really looking forward to seeing how it all unfolded and capturing the festivities. Shooting the lead up to the fondue until the ski down was fantastic on all fronts. The staff did a wonderful job of preparing and the food looked amazing. Unfortunately I was too busy working; sucks to be me 🙂 All in all it was a great way to spend Wednesday on the mountain. Warmer temps made it really comfortable even at the end of the night, shooting the village.
The second part of the week culminated in the ‘Holiday Kick off Weekend’. (see link for more info). The village took the initiative to have new holiday lights placed all through the walkways and hopefully the images help tell the story about how emotive these new lights are. They create a truly magical feel and it’s a real treat to watch people checking them out and commenting. There was a really good live band, the cast of ‘Frozen’ who sang and interacted with the kids, a polar bear, meet the sled dog puppies, the arrival of Santa on a horse drawn carriage and a ton more. You could literally feel the energy. Fresh snow, on and off helped too! The images you see are in rough order as to how the week transpired. Enjoy and for more of my work please check out my portfolio page here.
