The last few weeks have been a bit of a blur, trekking around the province with various clients; it’s been a load of fun to be honest. One of the projects that I really enjoyed and is now in the books was for gta Architecture, an Okanagan (Kelowna) based firm. I was contacted by them shortly before this job began with a request for high-end project work that had just been completed, with buildings in Penticton, Kelowna and Kamloops.
After working out the timeline and coordination, my first stop was at Penticton Nissan, an absolutely gorgeous building, inside and out. The showroom is massive, airy and best of all showcases mountain views out of the east, north and south windows. Balancing the bright, sunny day with the interior being so huge was a job for multiple studio lights, while still being able to maintain focus and story on the interior. The second stop on this tour took me to Kelowna, and Turner VW. Another beautiful structure, both inside and out. Slightly easier to manage contrast, the challenge was all about story and content, while maintaining simplicity and strength. Heavy smoke and back light at sunset turned the sky the purple/magenta shade you see, which fortunately the client liked due to the complimentary color scheme. Lastly, back at my home town of Kamloops, I was fortunate enough to meet and chat with Kim and Cam at Orchard’s Walk Pharmasave. Really nice, accommodating guys who made my visit there really enjoyable.
